Moki Doorstep Net Worth $4 Million

What Is Moki Door Step’s Net Worth?

The Moki Door Step is a vehicle attachment that is compatible with any car and has a net worth of $4 million. It hooks to the door latch of a car and allows someone to easily and safely access the roof of their car to load skis, bikes, kayaks, and more. Both feet can fit on the doorstep, permitting balance and safety for anyone who needs to access the top of their car.

The Origin Story

The Moki Door Step was founded by New England firefighter and paramedic Zach Brown.

Brown is an outdoorsman and was able to leverage his height to attach gear to the roof.

However, Brown realized that his wife was unable to safely access the roof due to her height.

She could not effectively attach any necessary gear that she needed while Zach was working 12-hour shifts.

Brown decided to solve this problem by creating the Moki Door Step.

It took years and multiple prototypes, but in the end, Brown was able to invent a compact solution that anyone could keep in their car at all times.

Brown named the Moki Door Step after Moki steps – a rock feature used by the Puebloans of the American Southwest to access various canyons and cliffs.

He went on to launch a Kickstarter campaign where he quickly garnered 2,000 supporters who pledged over $100,000.

He quickly realized that his product was marketable, had a very clear need, and could perform well commercially.

Rise to Popularity

Zach Brown took his idea to Shark Tank.

He appeared with his wife Alyssa in Season 10 Episode 9 on January 6, 2019, to pitch the Moki Door Step to Sharks Mark Cuban, Daymond John, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner, and Robert Harjavec.

They originally asked for $150,000 for a 5% stake in their company.

In their pitch, Alyssa notes that she’s “always been vertically challenged.” Zach says, “but there is one thing Alyssa has always struggled with…Alyssa has never been able to easily secure the gear on the roof of the car.”

Alyssa demonstrated the Moki Door Step on an SUV, immediately impressing the sharks.

John said, “who thinks of these things?” and Cuban exclaimed, “Wow, that’s smart! The ingenuity on America amazes me.”

Daymond John purchased the entirety of Moki Door Step for $3 million, and Alyssa and John walk out as instant millionaires.

Since the Browns already had licensing deals in the works, the heavy lifting of building the company had already been done.

Moki Door Step can now be found in major retailers such as Dick’s Sporting Goods, REI, and Amazon. The product is still waiting on a patent.
