Dilbert
In 1989, he published Dilbert, a comic strip that has spawned hundreds of Dilbert-themed merchandise items, a video game, an animated television series, and dozens of books.
Dilbert, the main character, is a white-collar office employee who is based on Scott’s own experience working in corporate America.
”Dilbert was one of the few successful comics to break out in its era, and I would say that at least half of that had to do with my business training,” Scott told HBR in November 2013. He added: ”The other half was just pure luck and being in the right place at the right time.”
By 1996, Dilbert had reached more than 800 newspapers across the US.
Also in 1996, Scott’s first business book, The Dilbert Principle, was released.
In 1997, Adams appeared in one episode of the TV series ”Babylon 5.”

Surgery
In July 2008, Adams underwent surgery to reroute the nerve connections to his vocal cords that were affected by spasmodic dysphonia – a neurologic condition that interferes with the functioning of the muscles of the larynx when they attempt to produce sound.
”I had surgery at U.C.L.A. to rewire the nerves in my neck and cure this incurable condition,” Scott said in an interview with The New Yorker in October 2008. ”My surgeon, Dr. Berke, pioneered this technique. Apparently, it worked because for the past two weeks, I have been able to speak.”

They divorced in 2014.
In 2016, Scott started dating Kristina Basham, a model who was born on July 31, 1988, in Walnut Creek, California.
Basham was a teen model for Ford Models. She also has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Adams and Kristina got engaged in 2019 and married on July 11, 2020.
Some people commented about the age difference between the two.
”Kristina is a wonderful person inside and out,” Adams tweeted in October 2018. ”Please keep your ignorant and corrosive thoughts to yourself.”
”The wedding was in my backyard with only my parents, my grandparents, and my siblings, because that’s what I wanted,” Basham wrote on Twitter after their wedding. ”Lastly, I’m over 30. Age gap is irrelevant. I’m a grown WOMAN.”
Basham has two kids from a previous relationship. ”Scott is not raising my children,” Basham tweeted in 2016. ”My ex-husband and I are raising them together.”

You obviously wouldn't have earned that much if you had stayed down the hall from me at 2600 Camino Ramon. I haven’t seen that place since 2007. Heard the east wing is all rented out to cut lunch places and shops now. PROGRESS. Who knew?
