Anton moved to Germany at just three years old and grew up in the small village of Dansenberg, Kaiserslautern, with his mother, father, older brother, and younger half-brother.
Zedd was part of a musical family, with his father, Igor Zaslavski, being a guitarist, and his mother, Marina Zaslavski, a piano tutor.
A classically trained musician, Zedd could play the piano at the age of just four and the drums by 12. His musical career began in 2002 when he began playing for a German deathcore band.
Zedd’s interest in electronic music was first established when he listened to Justice, a French electronic music duo who released their debut album in 2007.

By 2010, Zedd had become interested in electronic music and left the band Dioramic whom he had been for eight years. That same year, he won two Beatport contests.
Zedd’s first single was titled ‘The Anthem.’ The single entered the Beatport Electro house chart, giving Zedd his first taste of musical success in the electronic genre.
After his initial underground success, Zedd signed with a record company called Interscope Records before releasing his first single ‘Spectrum.’ The single did extremely well, rising to #1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Songs.

It would be July 2014 when Zedd would once again reach the top of the charts with Ariana Grande, and Zedd releasing ‘Break Free,’ which hit number 4 on Billboard’s Hot 100 and number 1 on the separate Hot Dance / Electronic Songs chart.
With Zedd’s mainstream success solidified, a 2014 documentary entitled ‘Moment of Clarity’ was released on his YouTube channel, documenting his first world tour.
After taking a break from music at the end of 2014, Zedd returned in February 2015 with I want You to Know, a collaboration with Selena Gomez that was co-written by Ryan Tedder and Kevin Drew.
After selling over one million copies, the single was certified platinum in the USA.
On the 15th of May 2015, Zedd’s second album ‘True Colors’ was released.
