Glennon was born in 1984 in Malibu, California, USA.

His father (an Emmy Award-winning cinematographer) was diagnosed with prostate cancer, while his mother was with breast cancer.

After the diagnosis of both of his parents having cancer, Andrew became very depressed. He said in an interview:

”I have been through so much pain in my life. My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer while my mother was fighting breast cancer.”

Glennon went on to say:

”I prepped myself to potentially lose both of my parents. My mother survived, but my father did not.”

In August 2017, Glennon started dating Amber Portwood, an American reality television personality who is best known for starring in MTV’s Teen Mom reality series.

The pair first met when Andrew worked for the production department of ”Marriage Boot Camp,” where Amber worked too.

On May 8, 2018, the two welcomed their son, James.

Portwood shares another child named Leah Shirley with her former fiancé, Gary Shirley.

Domestic Abuse

On July 5, 2019, Amber was arrested after an incident that occurred between the two. Amber was charged with criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, and a felony domestic battery.

According to the footage, she is yelling at Glennon:

”Get your stuff and go. I will call the police. Do not do this. I do not want your stuff to get f####ng stolen.”

Shortly after the incident, Portwood posted and deleted a message hinting at cheating, however, Glennon said he was faithful.

”My name was never mentioned in the post that she released. I guess it was just rough timing. People are just going to slap it on me.”

Glennon added:

”It’s a bashing of my character and what hurts I guess is the fact that she hasn’t come out and made a statement to say, you know, I wasn’t talking about Andrew, I was talking about somebody else.”

Andrew also said that he is focused on being the best father he can be for his son James.

Andrew confessed in an interview:

”I need to do what’s right for James and I need to take the right steps for myself. The future’s unknown.”

Andrew continued:

”All I know is what I need to do, like, right now and that is to provide James with a safe, secure happy environment.”

Later, Glennon filed a petition regarding the paternity and custody of his child with Amber.

On September 17, 2019, Maci Bookout (an American television personality who is best known for starring in ”16 and Pregnant” and ”Teen Mom”) wrote on her Twitter account about the situation between Amber and Andrew:

”My heart breaks for everyone involved and affected by this terrible situation. I do not condone or support abuse or violence of any type.”

Bookout also wrote:

”Amber has been a close, genuine friend of mine for many years. I will support her in getting the help that she needs.”

In September 2019, Glennon said that Portwood never wanted the baby to begin with. He also wrote on his Instagram account:

”She wasn’t taking her medication, she attacked my son and I on more than one occasion, and I pray she gets the help she needs.”

In the same month, Portwood told Dr. Drew Pinsky during a Teen Mom OG reunion special:

”I’m running after my kid and [Andrew] with a machete? You’re insane.”

In October 2019, Portwood reached a plea deal. She was sentenced to 2.5 years of Probation (906 days). In addition, Amber has to submit to random breath and urine testing while on probation, complete a batterer’s intervention program, submit to mental health evaluation, and complete 26 weeks of parenting classes. 

In January 2020, Amber asked the court for an “Injunction Against Custodial Parent to Prevent Interference with Parenting Time.”

Moreover, she claimed Andrew denied her visits with their son during the holidays.

She said:

”Father denied me parenting time over the Christmas holiday and took the child out of state preventing me from having any holiday parenting time.”

Later that month, she accused Glennon of violating their custody agreement by posting photos of James on social media.
