In the years that followed About a Boy, Prew featured mainly on the small screen, with roles in British shows Spooks, The Bill, and The Time of Your Life.

He landed a significant role in the 2008 movie The Secret of Moonacre, playing Robert De Noir. The movie is a fantasy tale about two rival families competing for a set of magical pearls.

Although the movie isn’t a mainstream hit, it was adored by teenage girls following its release and won Prew an obsessive Internet fanbase with this very demographic.

In other words, it propelled him into the spotlight.

A year after his role in The Secret of Moonacre, Prew took another step to solidify his popularity with his newly acquired fanbase when he joined Zac Effron in the movie Charlie St. Cloud.

The tear-jerking movie was a big hit with younger audiences and endeared Prew to his followers even more.

He went on to hold various small roles in films in the following years, including notable credits in Hated (2012), High Rise, and Kick-Ass 2, where he played Todd.

He returned to the small screen soon after Kick-Ass, landing recurring roles in Klondike, The Village, and Pure Genius.

Speaking at the premiere of High Rise, Prew said of his character Munrow:

“It was a lot of fun; he’s just a complete douchebag of the highest order, which is always fun to play. My final scene was a fun one to shoot, so when you see the movie, you’ll know what I mean!”

Throughout his career, Prew has played marginalized, quirky, and often misunderstood characters, which is something that he admits to being drawn to.

When you look through his filmography, it’s clear that he always plays roles that are far from conventional.

In 2017, Prew landed one of the biggest roles of his career when he was chosen to play David ‘Whip’ Martin in the hugely popular show Prison Break.

When asked about being included in the show, Prew was open and honest about being a fan before being cast.

He said:

It’s an honor, it’s such an honor. I was a massive fan of the show, and it’s very beloved. It’s an iconic show, and I get to be the guy who breaks out of prison with Wentworth Miller – it’s a dream come true! When I signed on to this, I watched all four seasons straight through, so I can tell you right now that this is way more intense than the other seasons, for sure!”

After Prison Break, Prew appeared in Special, The Morning Show, and Search Party, further highlighting his versatility and popularity as an actor.

He is also cast in the Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power series.

Although it’s not clear exactly how much Prew has earned from his various acting roles throughout his career so far, we can say with certainty that his high-profile roles in several movies and multiple TV shows have enabled him to accrue an impressive net worth as a result.

Therefore, Augustus Prew has an estimated net worth of $1.5 million.
