Rick Leventhal (birth name – Richard Gary Leventhal) is an American reporter who works as a senior correspondent for Fox News Channel since 1997. Currently, he is engaged to Kelly Dodd, a member of the Real Housewives of Orange County reality series.
Leventhal was born on January 24, 1960, in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA.
His mother is Carol Leventhal, the retired director of Greenbelt Cares in Greenbelt, while his father is Dr. Allan Leventhal, a retired psychologist in Silver Spring.
He has a younger sister, Leigh Leventhal (born in 1963) as well as an older brother, Scott Leventhal (born in 1958).
In 1978, Rick graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Springs, Maryland.
In 1986, Leventhal graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a B.A. in broadcast journalism.
Later, he worked for about 10 years as a reporter and anchor in news markets including Chicago, Miami, West Palm Beach, Spartanburg, and Columbia.

On September 11, 2001, Rick was one of the first journalists to report to the scene of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center.

In June 2015, Leventhal reported on the manhunt for the 2 prisoners who escaped the Clinton Correction Facility in Dannemora. Later, the event was dramatized in the new Showtime mini-series, “Escape At Dannemora.”

He was married to Penny Daniels, an American communications consultant and trainer who was an on-air reporter for WFLD-TV in Chicago and WSVN-TV in Miami. The couple later divorced.
On June 9, 2016, he married Beth Shak (an American professional poker player) in Las Vegas.
Shak is renowned for her 1,200-pair shoe collection that has been valued at more than $1 million.
