I really miss Ricky Van Shelton's singing. He was and always will be my favorite singer. His voice is so smooth and sounds so good. I have most of his albums and know the words to all the songs. This might sound morbid, but I am thinking about having his Don't Overlook Salvation album played at my funeral. It is so nice. I have his three Quacker booksand the one Bette wrote about his life. I just wish you were still singing but I understand why you don't. God Bless you and Bette

This young man grew up near where I was raised. Heard of his singing from local folks that went to some of the places he played. I met him face to face in 1995 on I81 returning from TN. He was heading home to Grit for the Christmas holiday. We met at a VA rest stop. Boy was I surprised to see him to. Miss this young man but probably the best move he ever made for he and his wife.

I was totally obsessed with Ricky. I saw him in many concerts, usually on the front row because I camped out for tickets. Lots of pictures and visited him backstage after most concerts. He was friendly and wonderfully entertaining at all times. I knew some of his crew and his bus driver. Ricky called me South Arkansas because of my Southern drawl. Lots of fun and I hated when it came to an end. The last concert I attended was at the State Fair in Little Rock. I was alone sitting out front in a rain storm when the attendants came and told me Ricky was headed back to Nashville due to weather. lol
