Alec Steele is an English YouTuber and professional blacksmith who is best known for his popular YouTube channel on which he documents his process of building projects in his shop.
He had created some famous weapons in history, including M9 Bayonet and the Viking Battle Axe.
Steele also had his own series for blacksmithing on History Channel titled – ”Forged with Steele.” He said about blacksmithing:
”Blacksmithing is something that is surging in popularity, I would argue, faster than ever.”
Alec was born on November 16, 1997, in the United Kingdom.
Steele found a passion for blacksmithing at age 11. At age 16, Alec left school in order to pursue blacksmithing full-time.
He said in an interview:
”I started blacksmithing at a very young age and when I was just 16 I left school because I was so entrenched in this passion.”
Steele went on to say:
”I was completely convinced and knew I would make it work – honestly, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.”
In another interview, Alec talked about his decision to leave school:
”My parents explained how much better off I’d be if I finished school.”
Alec later added:
”It wasn’t a case of, ‘this whole school thing is terrible.’ I just really wanted to do blacksmithing.”
He later founded an online school for blacksmithing video tutorials.

Alec started his self entitled YouTube channel on February 13, 2011.
On the channel, he uploads videos in which he details what tools to purchase for blacksmithing, how to make the tools you will need, and how to forge blades.
Currently, his channel has earned over 2.28 million subscribers, and it has more than 383 million views.
When asked about his reasons to start a YouTube channel, he responded:
”As a means of growing my business and selling my products and courses when I still offered them.”
One of the most popular videos on his channel is titled – ”CAN YOU FORGE A METEORITE!?” The video has over 5.4 million views.

Forged with Steele
In October 2018, his blacksmithing series “Forged with Steele” started to run on History Channel.
The television series was produced by Studio71 in the United Kingdom.
Throughout the series, he crafts a variety of weapons, such as a Scottish Claymore, a Roman Gladius, or a traditional Japanese Katana sword.
The series has 18 episodes.

The name of his fiancée was not released to the public.

In 2018, he crafted a Viking Sword. The entire process lasted about three months.
He said that the sword was a way “to create a beautiful piece of craftsmanship for the YouTube channel and see how the market responded to offering my larger pieces for sale.”
Later, Steele sold the sword for £17,000 (about $22,000), and with the money, he moved to Montana, USA.
