Luna, after hearing and seeing Sensation perform, gladly offered him the opportunity to work as a mixer for the station, and this wound up being his big break.

Sensation remained at this station for about a year and a half.
After that, the station changed formats.
Six months after leaving Caliente FM, Sensation was offered another job at La Mega 97.9FM, New York’s most popular Latin music radio station.
This position was not just as a mixer but as head mixer of a segment called La Mega Mezcla del Mediodia.
He quickly became the station’s most popular DJ.
Since his huge success in radio, he has performed for sold-out crowds at Madison Square Garden, Izon Center, Nokia Theater, and the United Palace.

In 2009, Salazar released his first mix album, called Alex Sensation & Friends: La Mega Mezcla via Planet Records. The album received an ACE award (Association of Latin Entertainment Critics).
In 2015, he released the single Bailame, which featured popular artists Yandel and Shaggy.
Later that same month, Salazar signed a record deal with Universal Music Latin Entertainment and released numerous songs which reached high spots on the Hot Latin Songs chart.
In 2016, Sensation, alongside Gente de Zona (Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom Martinez) released “La Mala y La Buena.”
